1948 Prague: A society rebuilds after WWII, driven to construct a monumental symbol of power. An artist is pulled into a system that demands loyalty over integrity - a story inspired by the tragic legacy of Otakar Švec and the Stalin Monument in Prague.
Present-day London: As Europe is heading for another war, Bogdan, a Polish builder and aspiring rapper, navigates exploitation and loneliness while constructing luxury flats - the new monuments of our time.
Expect a formally inventive blend of rap, live comedy, and physical theatre. This isn't just a show to watch - it's one to build. Audience members become fellow workers, creating a collective experience that explores the migrant journey, the ideology of hard work, and the systems that shape us.
Created and performed by Polish-British artist Margot Przymierska, the production is developed in collaboration with The People Speak.
