A research and development commission by Bradford Producing Hub celebrating the City’s Eastern European community. The project was a collaboration with a British-Ukrainian writer Adam Hughes and consisted of interviews with members of the Polish and Ukrainian diaspora in West Yorkshire, which inspired 5 original monologues, performed online during the Covid-19 pandemic.

12 April, 2021 Live Podcast Talkaoke. The show featured a range of invited guests, ranging from first, second and third generation immigrants, and will look at what it means to be Eastern European living in the UK and how this has changed over the past hundred years. We utilised the popular Talkaoke format by The People Speak. Talkaoke is an interactive talk-show, combining live in-person and online conversations. The aim of the podcast is to give a voice to one of the city’s most prominent immigrant groups and celebrate their stories and history.

15 May, 2021 Talkaoke in Bradford. We brought the Talkaoke table to Bradford’s Oastler Square and invited people to join the conversation about the city’s past, present and future through the eyes of the communities who live there. The event was supported by the Polish Consulate in Manchester as part of The Polish Heritage Days and City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council Department of Place, Stronger Communities funding.

25 July 2021 Online Sharing. After a period of research we shared 5 original monologues followed by a Q&A facilitated by The People Speak.
